Key Milestones of PlanMill

1988: A comprehensive Windows-based multiproject management tool Nokia Planner was developed by Nokia

1992: ViSolutions Inc. established as a spun-off from Nokia powered by Fujitsu (former ICL Data) and Sitra. Visual Planner related product family was introduced.

1994: ViSolutions and IBM (former Lotus) co-developed world's first database connector for Lotus Domino

1997: TJ Group Plc acquired ViSolutions project management related business including IPR's from Fujitsu. TJ Planner related product family was introduced.

1998: Microsoft co-operation started and MS SQL Server based TJ Planner was introduced

1999: Innovative browser-based (Java) Time & Expense sheets modules were introduced. World's first Mobile Internet based (WAP) time tracking solutions were co-developed together with Nokia.

2000: PlanMill was the first PSA software in the world to receive the respected Microsoft Windows 2000 certification

2001: PlanMill Ltd was established October 1, 2001 as a 100% subsidiary of Westend ICT Plc (former TJ Group Plc). Thomas Hood was named as CEO. New 100 % PSA and service business related focus and first PSA Suite related product family were introduced.

2004: Finances, CRM and service request related modules were introduced

2006: Management buyout (MBO) by Thomas Hood, Christer Nordlund and Sentica Partners was completed. A comprehensive and real-time 4th generation 100 % browser, Java and XML-based PSA solution was introduced including both SaaS (On-Demand) and On-Premise deployment options.

2007: Rapid +200 % growth of SaaS business continued. Joint management of Microsoft Dynamics NAV certified Platinum Partners Ltd.

2008: Founder and CEO Thomas Hood was recognized as one of the 'Top 100 Influential IT Persons in Finland'.

2009: Founder and CEO Thomas Hood again joined the ranks of "Top 100 IT Persons in Finland".

2010: PlanMill moved to its current offices in Teollisuuskatu 21, Helsinki; Thomas Hood became Chairman of the board at Morebiz24.

2011: PlanMill celebrates 10 years in service business. CEO Thomas Hood co-founded a brand communication specialist company called Brand United with owners from Dot Design Oy, More Business Services Oy, and Packaging Premedia Oy.

2012: PlanMill moves to a new spacious office in Hämeentie 19, Helsinki. New PlanMill Mobile, Touch optimized web-based apps for Smartphones & Tablets is launched.
